About the authors

Eric and Matt met as freshmen at Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, Ind., and soon set out to write a series of fantasy novels together. Their original project has changed enormously over the years, but Lesson of the Fuel is the fruit of a decade of labor developing the world of Diah and learning to write. They are now focused on becoming published authors and, to that end, are seeking representation for Lesson of the Fuel.

Eric Zawadzki is a senior customer service representative for the retirement services division of a major bank and lives in Minneapolis, Minn. He graduated from Manchester College in 1999 with a B.A. in English. He is a member of Traitor Recycling Studio — an informal gaggle of writers who produce supplements for PARANOIA — and has material that will be appearing in Service, Service (released in October 2005).
