Rise of the Duxies (ca. 3000 - 5000 I.D.)

The Mar knew Domus Palus could not remain hidden from the Drakes indefinitely. Even with the aid of magic, an outright Mar invasion would have been futile. Mardux Syver Lankarten called all the wizards to a council at the citadel to discuss the future of Marrishland and the needs of its people. Together, they formed several groups intended to position the Mar to dominate the subcontinent.

Despite countless setbacks and numerous disasters, Mardux Lankarten's grand plan to forge the Mar into a united race bent on driving the Drakes out of ancestral Mar lands was ultimately successful. The victory of the duxies over the mighty Mass was far from a swift one. Rather, it took two thousand years for the Mar to realize the vision of Mardux Lankarten.
